On behalf of the Board of Education and our entire staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2009-2010 school year. This website will provide you with important information about the Taft City School District. By visiting the our web pages, you will be able to follow major events an activities scheduled throughout the year.
Taft City School District is comprised of seven school sites in grades K – 8 and we currently have 2,094 students enrolled. We are proud of our traditions. We enjoy the benefits of small classes, dedicated teachers and staff members, improving test scores, and a varied academic program in junior high. It is the students, the teachers, and the staff – as well as our supportive community of parents – which make our school district a very special place to be.
The Taft City School District Board of Education and the administrative staff welcome you to the new school year and offer our total commitment to quality instruction that leads to excellence for all students. We have a commitment to effective instructional practices, well-trained staff, successful communication, a professional work and learning environment, and safe and functional facilities. Planned parent involvement in their children’s learning that generates confidence and support for our public schools.
No effort will be considered too great, or standard set too high, when it relates to students in our seven schools. While our goals are common, each school with your assistance will create a different and unique path to reach these goals. Your continued feedback and communication will help to shape our future direction. You direct involvement is crucial to the success of your child, your child’s school, and the district as a whole. I am confident that the new school year will bring significant achievement and accomplishment to our students and staff.
